Privacy Policy

How DeckDesk collects, uses, protects and shares information when you visit this website, request a resource or book a call.

Introduction

DeckDesk is a presentation support service operated by DeckDesk, LLC. In this policy, “DeckDesk,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to DeckDesk, LLC.

This policy explains how we handle information in connection with this website at www.deckdesk.co, including information you send us, information you provide when you request our guide or book a call, and information collected automatically by the technologies that run the site.

It does not cover the handling of client project files and materials during a paid engagement. That is governed by the Service Agreement.

02

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you, deliver what you asked for, and keep the site running.

Information you give us
  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your company, and your role or job title, where you choose to share them
  • What you tell us about your presentation, timing or team
  • Information you submit through Kit for email and guide delivery
  • Information you enter while scheduling through Calendly
  • The content of emails you send to us
Information collected automatically
  • Standard technical information generated when a page is served (such as browser type, device type, IP address and pages requested), recorded by our hosting provider for security and reliability
  • Site usage data (pages visited, time on site, general geographic region, device and browser type) collected by Google Analytics
Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to help us understand site traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics is only loaded after you accept analytics cookies through our cookie-consent system. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and general location and device information. This data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors personally, and we do not combine this data with advertising or remarketing services.

If you'd prefer not to be tracked by Google Analytics, you can reject analytics cookies when the consent banner appears, update your preference at any time via Cookie Settings in the footer, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send, payment card details, government identifiers or other sensitive personal information through this website.

03

How information is collected

Information comes from five sources: direct communication with you, the Kit guide form, Calendly scheduling, cookies and similar technologies, and hosting/security logs maintained by our provider. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we also receive limited billing information from Stripe, our payment processor.

04

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Respond to your inquiry
  • Schedule and hold a call
  • Deliver a guide or resource you requested
  • Process and manage your subscription
  • Provide and administer DeckDesk services
  • Follow up on information you asked us for
  • Keep the website secure and working
  • Understand and improve the website
  • Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
  • Send marketing emails where you have given us the appropriate permission, and every such email includes a way to unsubscribe

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

06

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses a cookie-consent system. When you first visit, a banner gives you the choice to accept or reject non-essential cookies, or to adjust your preferences by category. Your choice is stored in your browser and respected on every subsequent visit. You can change your preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page.

The cookies and similar technologies this site uses fall into two categories:

  • Essential. Required for the site to work, including navigation, security, and the embedded Calendly scheduling widget. These are always active and cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited, time on site, and general location and device information. Google Analytics is not loaded until you accept analytics cookies. If you reject non-essential cookies or turn analytics off in Cookie Settings, Google Analytics will not run and no analytics cookies will be set. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

The Calendly widget embedded on our booking pages loads Calendly's code directly on deckdesk.co. Calendly may set or access cookies and browser storage depending on its configuration and your jurisdiction. See the Calendly Privacy Notice for details. Calendly is treated as essential because it provides the scheduling functionality this site exists to offer; rejecting analytics cookies does not prevent the Calendly widget from working.

When you visit Kit or check out through Stripe, those services set their own cookies on their own domains.

07

Service providers and disclosures

We use a small number of providers to run the site and the services around it. They handle information on our behalf, for the purposes described here, and are not permitted to use it for their own unrelated purposes.

Client project file providers

The following providers may have access to client project files or materials in the course of delivering a paid engagement. Their handling of such files is governed by the Service Agreement, not by this website policy.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer, in which case this policy or a comparable one would continue to apply.

Because these providers process information for us, we do not claim that information is never shared. It is shared only as described here.

08

Kit forms and the downloadable guide

Our guide form is hosted by Kit and opens in a new tab; it is not embedded in this site. DeckDesk decides what the form asks for, and Kit collects your submission and processes it on our behalf so we can send you what you requested. Kit’s own privacy notice and cookie choices apply on its page.

We use that information to deliver the guide and to follow up on it. Sending you recurring promotional email requires the appropriate permission, which the form must request clearly and separately. It is not bundled into the request for the guide. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any such message, or by emailing us.

09

Calendly scheduling

Calendly’s scheduling widget is embedded directly on our booking pages at deckdesk.co. When those pages load, Calendly’s code runs within the page and Calendly may receive technical and browser information (such as your IP address, browser type, and device information) as part of serving the widget.

Calendly may set or access cookies and browser storage in connection with the embedded widget, depending on Calendly’s configuration and your jurisdiction. Calendly’s own privacy notice and cookie choices govern its handling of that data. See Calendly’s Privacy Notice for details.

Some “book a call” links on this site also open Calendly’s scheduling page in a new tab. Whether you schedule through the embedded widget or through a direct link, your scheduling information — typically your name, email address, the time you chose, and any details you add — is processed by Calendly and then passed to DeckDesk so we can hold the call and follow up.

10

Payments

If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store your card number or other card details — Stripe handles that under its own security standards, including PCI-DSS compliance at the highest level. We receive limited billing information from Stripe, such as your name, email, and subscription status, so we can manage your account and provide support. For more information, see the Stripe Privacy Policy.

11

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected (to answer you, to deliver services, to keep required business records), and then delete it or keep it in a reduced form.

12

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access.

No website, service or method of transmission is completely secure, and we do not promise that it is. If you need to send us something sensitive, ask us for an approved secure method first.

13

Confidential client materials

Please do not include confidential, regulated or highly sensitive presentation material in a website inquiry, form submission or ordinary email unless we have given you an approved secure submission method.

Confidentiality and the handling of project files during an engagement are governed by the Service Agreement, not by this website policy.

14

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access to the information we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of information
  • Restriction of certain processing
  • Objection to certain processing
  • Portability of information you gave us
  • Withdrawal of consent you previously gave
  • Opting out of marketing email
  • Rights available under applicable U.S. state privacy laws
  • Lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority, where that applies to you

Not all of these rights apply to everyone, and some are subject to conditions and exceptions. To make a request, email us at legal@deckdesk.co. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right.

15

International data processing

Our providers may store or process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is subject to those providers’ safeguards and to applicable law.

16

Children’s privacy

This is a business website intended for professional audiences. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

18

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective and last-updated dates at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than buried.
